ARTIST INTERVIEW :: A DREAM TOO LATE
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
We got a chance to hook up with A Dream Too Late on some down time between touring and starting work on their sophmore album. We talked on future plans, music industry politics and getting stranded in the desert . . .

Admire Xchange: What do you believe your music conveys to your listeners?

A Dream Too Late: We all share a belief in doing things different from the norm. In fact the ‘norm’ scares us pretty bad. I hope our music portrays our spirit to dream dreams and be lead by them throughout life. Even if they are super huge and seemingly impossible.
AX: What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Were you able to overcome it?
ADTL: Besides being broken down a hundred different times, stranded in unknown cities with no money, and lost in the desert with no gas I would say our biggest challenge as a band would have had to been our last tour with Search The City. It was really just the zenith of a string of difficult tours that ended with all of us at rock bottom in downtown Hollywood at 3am questioning if we should continue the tour we worked so hard on or cut our losses and go home, never to speak again. - From that point we all ended up going in separate directions and continued to do so for almost. It was a learning experience, that eventually brought us back together so I would say yes, we did overcome.
AX: Do you find the music industry encourages artists to express their talents in a postive way?
ADTL: Absolutely not. Our experience with the music industry has been all about the universal green. We have been encouraged by ‘industry people’ to be vane in our thinking and artificial with our beliefs and expressions. Not a huge fan.
AX: What can we expect for the future "A Dream Too Late"?
ADTL: The world is in a weird spot right now. The life for a band or group of musicians that aren’t on the top of the charts has always been a humble one. With the world in recession I think it’s curbing a lot of band’s vans and keeping them in the writing closet. I think you can expect to see the same thing from us. We had a pretty rough year in 2008 but it’s encouraged us to keep our head down and release the best possible follow-up album we can. ---
